Effects of the Temperature , Cutting Media and Auxin Treatment on Bulblet Formation in Scaling of Lilies

Abstract

|
This study was carried out to know the effects of temperature, cutting media and auxin on bulblet formation in scaling of lilies. Number and diameter of bulblet was the best at 25℃ in both ´Casablanca´ and ´Stargazer´, but ´Gelria´ and L. tigrinurn was good at 20℃. Media of scaling was the best in sawdust for bulblet formation, but sand was not good. Number of bulblets formed according to the scale position the greater in outer and middle scales than in inner scales. Number of bulblets formed in ´Casablanca´ and ´Stargazer´ was the greatest at 300 ppm IBA treatment. In ´Gelria´ and L. tigrinurn, however, 100 ppm IBA treatment showed the best results. In general, IBA was more effective than NAA.
